Christopher Reeve
Everyone deserves a safe space and providing that is my first priority.
I am a client-centered, down-to-earth clinician who leads with empathy, honesty, and humor. And my Southern accent tends to sneak in without warning. There is often a dog in my office (and glitter all over the floor). You are invited to come just as you are.
I provide services for children, adolescents, and adults and have experience helping people navigate anxiety, depression, sexual abuse/commercial sexual exploitation, trauma/PTSD, personality disorders, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, gifted/ADHD, and substance abuse.
I utilize a variety of approaches including CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Sand Tray, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Solution-Focused, Creative Expressions, and Play Therapy. I specialize in Animal Assisted Therapy. Telehealth sessions available for established clients.
It would be my honor to walk alongside you during your healing journey.
In my practice, I aim to create a non-judgmental environment where you can bring all the parts of yourself. Going to therapy can be nerve-racking, and I hope to provide a warm, inviting space where you feel comfortable exploring different aspects of your life. Through self-understanding comes the ability to have a new perspective, heal, and gain strengths to help you deal with life's challenges. I take a holistic approach when working with clients and find that looking together at clients' environments and relationships is essential when exploring new paths forward towards healing.
I am a licensed therapist in the state of Arizona and have a masters degree in social work. I use person centered approaches, play therapy and have been certified in EMDR. I often use EMDR techniques that help clients process through hard experiences and focus on the mind-body connection. I enjoy helping both kids and adults gain tools to feel more grounded and connected to themselves. When working with kids, I like to use play therapy techniques. Play is children's language and allows them to explore and process their emotions.
When I’m outside the therapy office I enjoy being in nature and love to hike around the Scottsdale area. I got my start working with youth coaching volleyball and continue to help youth athletes in my spare time.
